Custom Ductwork | Raleigh Heating & Air

One benefit of allowing Raleigh Heating & Air to provide your custom ductwork is the option for antimicrobial duct work. In recent years more and more attention has been paid to indoor air quality and its effects on our comfort and health. While UVGI devices offer a convenient way to kill biological pollutants in your air ducts, we believe that going straight to the source is the best way to handle this particular problem. Antimicrobial ductwork does just that. Damp ductwork is a breeding ground for mold, and once mold develops in your ductwork it can spread quickly. An antimicrobial coating on your ductwork helps suppress the microbes when it comes into contact with moisture.

Whatever your custom ductwork needs, the experts in our sheet metal fabrication shop can help. We offer great lined or unlined HVAC ductwork and fittings, as well as customized plenums and drain pans. Don’t make your home heating and cooling system rely on parts that just aren’t the right fit. Contact us today with any custom ductwork projects you need completed by highly skilled professionals.

What Does SEER Stand For, and What Does it Mean?

Monday, February 4th, 2013

Believe it or not, the heating season is almost behind us here in Raleigh, NC. Spring is on its way, and everyone knows that when spring finally shows up the summer heat is never far behind. Many homeowners are already looking forward to the summer heat. Many more are beginning to think about their air conditioning systems, or lack thereof, and are wondering how they are going to beat the heat this air conditioning season. Raleigh Heating & Air encourages homeowners to carefully consider not only the air conditioning model they are investing in, but also its SEER.

All home cooling systems are assigned a SEER, which stands for seasonal energy efficiency ratio. The SEER of your air conditioner or heat pump tells you how efficiently your home air conditioning system will operate. The high the SEER, the more efficient the home cooling system and the more energy savings you can expect to enjoy.

Manufacturers are required to disclose the SEER of air conditioners and heat pumps so that consumers like you can know what to expect from their air conditioners and just what they are paying for. Due to today’s U.S. regulatory codes, all new air conditioners and heat pumps need to have a minimum SEER of 13 or higher. Many air conditioning systems have a SEER reaching 20 or 21, offering great energy efficiency and great saving potential.

The key to buying a new air conditioning system is to make an informed decision. As with most other mechanical systems, you tend to get what you pay for. That being said, the high the SEER the more money a system will generally cost. We understand that not everyone is able to afford a top-of-the-line air conditioner with a 20 SEER. Consider your budget, do a little research and make sure that you get the most efficient system that you personally can afford.

Contact Raleigh Heating & Air today to learn more about SEER and air conditioning options in Raleigh. We can help you save money this cooling season. Call today to schedule service.
