An investment in comfort.
Geothermal Heat Pumps (also referred to as ground-source, geo-exchange, water-source or earth coupled) use the relatively constant temperature of the earth to heat and cool your indoor space. Geothermal Heat Pumps offer these superior benefits:
• Provides a combination heating/cooling and if equipped, hot water heating system
• Less expensive to operate and maintain
• Reduce total energy costs by 40 to 70%
• All components are either buried in the ground or located inside the home
• No flame, flammable fuel or potentially dangerous fuel storage tanks
• Some can save you up to 80% on your water-heating bill
• Underground pipe carries up to a 50-year warranty
• Very quiet — No noisy fan units to disturb outdoor activities
• No exposed equipment outdoors; no enviromental damage or vandalism
Geothermal systems provide precise distribution of comfortable air all year long, eliminating hot spots and cold spots in your home. They will also improve humidity control by maintaining about 50% relative indoor humidity, making your home feel more comfortable than ever.
How it Works
Everyday energy (heat) from the sun is absorbed and stored in the ground. This is why the temperature below the earth’s surface stays relatively constant throughout the year. Below the frost line, it is warmer in the cold winter months. During the summer it is cooler underground. Geothermal systems make use of this sun to earth energy by extracting heat from the ground in the winter and reversing that process in the summer by moving the hot air in your home back to the earth. This exchange is made through an underground loop system.
