Raleigh Heating and Air Is Sponsoring a BBB Torch Scholarship

The team at Raleigh Heating & Air is proud to offer more to the local community than just our superb HVAC services. We are helping to foster education in the community by sponsoring a $1,000 BBB Torch Scholarship for college-bound young men and women. When you apply for a BBB Torch Scholarship, your application qualifies for a number of different scholarship awards, including ours.

We’ve provided a brief outline of the scholarship application process below. Who is eligible?

The scholarships are open to all college-bound high school juniors and seniors and college undergraduates who live in BBB’s 33-county service area.

What are the criteria?

The BBB Torch Scholarship “recognizes students who personify high ethics as demonstrated through leadership, community services, overall personal integrity, and academic history.”

What does the application process involve?

• A letter of recommendation: Applicants must obtain a short letter of recommendation and signature from a representative of a BBB Accredited Business—such as ours!
• An original essay: Applicants must complete an essay of 1,000 words or less on the following topic: “As the CEO of a company, how would you incorporate BBB’s Code of Business Practice into your organization? Explain why each practice is important and how it would impact your relationship with consumers and other businesses.” The essay will be evaluated by an independent panel of judges.
• Academic transcript

How are applications judged?

The judges will use the following scale when assessing scholarship awards: 50% essay, 30% academic achievement, 20% leadership/community service.
